Als “Underground Rap Mom” begann die zunächst recht steinige Rapkarriere von Bby Mutha auf Soundcloud. Die alleinerziehende vierfache Mutter von zwei Zwillingspärchen fand im Rap den Ausdruck, den sie (und wenn wir ehrlich sind: die ganze Szene) braucht: Ihr Auftreten ist offen, sex-positiv, aber dennoch antisexistisch und stark. Der Durchbruch gelang ihr mit dem Musikvideo zu „Rules“ 2017. Acht Releases zieren inzwischen ihre Diskografie. Mit ihnen hat Bby Mutha ganz nebenbei auch das Verständnis von Rap und Mutterschaft über den Haufen geworfen – zum einen, weil sie ihr Leben als „Single Mom“ offen in ihren Songs und auf der Bühne thematisiert, zum anderen, weil sie ihre Kids inzwischen durch ihre Musik ernährt. Was für ein krasses Vorbild!
