Die indonesische R&B-Künstlerin Annisya wurde Anfang der 2000er geboren und wuchs in Jakarta auf. Als Teenagerin entdeckte sie neben Hobbys wie Sport, Tanzen und Sneakern auch ihre Leidenschaft für Musik. Ab 2015 stellte sie selbst gesungene Coverversionen von Artists wie Frank Ocean, Drake, Steve Wonder und Beyoncé ins Internet. Auf der Future-Trap&B-Ballade, die Annisya nicht nur selbst komponierte und mitproduzierte, sondern für die sie auch die Lyrics eigens schrieb, besingt sie in englischer Sprache das Ende einer romantischen Beziehung.
Im Jahr 2020 experimentierte Annisya in verschiedenen Freestyle-Songs zunehmend auch mit Spoken Word- und Rap-Elementen, wie man ihrem Soundcloud-Profil hören kann. Ende des letzten Jahres veröffentlichte sie die komplett gerappte Club-Single „VIP“ im Dirty South-Style. Mit „Behind The Scenes“ folgte 2021 ein souligerer Song, auf dem Annisya ihre gesungenen Vocals smooth mit Rap-Parts verbindet. Ihr Stimmtalent demonstriert sie ebenfalls regelmäßig bei Sessions und Auftritten mit ihrer Live-Band.
