Im Jahr 2021 erfüllt sich der lang gehegte Traum der aufstrebenden kanadischen Rapperin La Reina: Überraschenderweise hat dieser jedoch nichts mit Musik zu tun, denn La Reina eröffnet einen eigenen Friseursalon. Dabei sah das bis vor kurzem noch ganz anders aus. Die Tochter eines lateinamerikanischen DJs sorgt in den letzten Jahren rund um die Rap-Szene Montreals für ordentlich Furore. Ihre erste Veröffentlichung „Gwap“ schlägt 2019 regelrecht ein. Es folgen daraufhin zahlreiche Live-Bookings. Über drei Jahre hinweg veröffentlicht La Reina einen Trap-Banger nach dem anderen, bis es zunehmend stiller um die 30-Jährige wird. Denn neben der Musik verfolgt La Reina alias Valérie Reina Dinelle weitere Ziele.

Im vergangenen Jahr erschienen zwar keine neuen Tracks, doch es bleibt zu hoffen, dass La Reina ihre Rap-Karriere nicht komplett auf Eis legt. Von den selbstbewussten Rapresenter-Lines und laid back Flows sollte es zukünftig dringend noch mehr geben.
